La Molina is Catalonia's oldest ski resort, open since 1943 and a pioneer in installing Spain's first drag lift, chairlift, and gondola. Together with Masella, to which it's connected by gondola and chairlift, it forms Alp 2500: the largest ski area in the Catalan Pyrenees, with 145 km of slopes spread across both resorts. La Molina ranges from 1,667 to 2,537 metres, with 69 slopes and a large beginners' area; Masella reaches 2,535 metres at La Tosa with 65 slopes and a 935-metre vertical drop. Together they add up to more than 130 slopes for all levels, with stadiums that have hosted World Cup events.
