La Molina is Spain's oldest ski resort, open since 1943 and the site of the country's first commercial ski lift. It spans altitudes from 1,667 to 2,537 metres, with a 71 km ski area spread across 66 pistes for every level, from a wide beginner zone to more technical runs, and 595 snow cannons covering 60% of the skiable surface. In 2008 its Supermolina stadium hosted the first women's Alpine Ski World Cup event held in the Pyrenees. It's connected by cable car and chairlift to neighbouring Masella, together forming Alp 2500, the largest ski area in the Catalan Pyrenees.
